You put your Right Leg UP!

For the past two weeks, Nanny & Paw Paw (my mom and dad) have been keeping James and Maggie. This was to allow MiMi (my MIL) a much needed vacation. James and Maggie have loved having Nanny & Paw Paw here. They have learned a lot in these two weeks: high five, attempt to hold up 1 finger for their age, and walking in their walkers. Nanny and Paw Paw have taken them outside nearly everyday. It has been great.

Now, as you all know, with grandparents come LOTS of pictures. So, here are a few that show their fun filled two weeks.

The Sunday Paper

I love how anything is intriguing to little kiddos...paper being one of the most fascinating. It makes noise, it can fly, you can shake it, you can wad it up, you can step on it...all of which make a different noise. Well, it also MAKES A BIG MESS! The kiddos decided to see what the hub bub was about with the Sunday Paper...wouldn't you know this one would have a ton of ads.

SiPPy StRAw...

Since father's day, we have been learning to drink water from sippy cups...we tried the Nuby (those were okay, but not great). then we found the SIPPY STRAW! Love these cups, the kiddos love these cups...who doesn't love these cups? No spill, No mess, easy to use...did I mention I love them??? James and Maggie are becoming such big kiddos...next they'll be driving.

So...We tried it!

So, we tried the SpaceShip Buggy at the local Publix grocery store. Maggie and James were too cute. They cooperated very well.

Maggie has the beginning signs of kleptomania...her first thing to swipe: Dill Pickle Chips! They were right at arms reach. She actually took two...one for James and one for herself.

Still happy...and not screaming. Keith was not thrilled about having to push the SpaceShip buggy...I am sure if it were a police car he might not be so opposed. We will have to see what next week brings...we just might use it again.

We're becoming BIG KEDS...

We have officially drained all of the magic out of our First Shoes!

Toes gone from each shoe...
Toe gone from one shoe...
New Big Boy Keds...with toe caps.
Very cute Big Girl Keds...
So far, we like our new shoes. If only we would turn loose of the couch and take that step...We'll keep you posted on the steps...

I LOVE Tile...

i love tile...I love the tear out, the dust, the mess, the work, the sweat and most of all the BEAUTIFUL finished project. I love tile so much, My Wonderful Husband gave me a really nice Wet Saw for CHRISTmas. This is the first chance we had to use the saw and it worked like a champ. We were able to rip out, lay, grout and seal in 4 days (this includes the 24 hrs of suggested drying in between each step). Not bad for amateurs.

The next project will be the shower...that will really be a mess! I cannot WAIT!

Rip out the old, make room for the new!

1980's tile job...no backer board, just thick mortar and wire mesh to hold it to the floor...YUCK!

Keith preparing the sub floor for the NEW backer board!

Our New Tile...pre-grout!

New Tile plus grout! I love how the finished project makes the mess worth while!

Whosoever!

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:4-6

How BLESSED am I! Sunday, my family (I count everyone in attendance MY FAMILY) came together to witness the baptism of my dad, my husband and the dedication of Maggie and James. I wanted Maggie and James to be apart of God our Father (not so much a particular denomination), so off to the river we go. My Mom and Dad live on the Alabama River...so, what better place. Brother Scott was so gracious to take care of baptizing everyone. (Maggie and James really wanted to play in the water.) Following, we had a lunch of Catfish, Chicken Tenders, Fries, and Watermelon prepared by the Marina. It was an all around great day!!!

11 down and 1 to go!!

James and Maggie are officially 11 months old and 1 month away from their 1st birthday! James and Maggie are both growing up before our very eyes. They both began using sippy cups, hand feeding, and taking assisted steps. They are still enjoying the pool and are eager to splash each other. They are both talking back and forth...if only I could be a fly on the wall in their room early in the morning.

Thanksgiving Thursday

where to begin...

  • sleep-James and Maggie go down between 730&800 and wake up around 730. YEA!
  • work-lots of hours, but in this economy...I'm not complaining.
  • new foods-it takes a couple of tries, but James and Maggie are learning to feed themselves.
  • pony/piggy tales-Maggie enjoys to have her hair done.
  • decisions-their 1st birthday is coming up...decisions galore!
  • patience-my dad survived 10 days with HIS mother...I am just glad he is back home.
  • whosoever-Dada, Maggie & James will all be baptized on Sunday! God is SO GOOD!
  • prayer-it is always there, never out of service, if you forget...God tends to send you a reminder!
  • crying-when others have it worse, you are tearful for them and also in praise that God has blessed you with what you have!
