Boy...did we fool Santa!

What a wonderful holiday...James and Maggie had a fabulous first CHRISTmas. We spent Christmas Eve Brunch with the Chenault's. We have celebrated Christmas Eve with our best friends for the past 6 years. Last year, their son Graham was the only kid and on this 7th year we added 3 more kids. What a special year for our two families.

Next year is going to be crazy, with 4 kids able to toddle around! I cannot wait!!!!

James and Maggie actually slept in on Christmas morning...next year will be different; that's for sure. We started the morning by singing "Happy Birthday Jesus" and discussing His birth. We then ventured to the living room for the opening of presents. James and Maggie were both given three gifts...the same amount that Jesus received. This year they received Learn-n-Play Puppy, Learn-n-Play Cookie jar and new rattles/hand held toys for their high chairs.

This was also a good year for Frank and Lucy. They each received a new toy and two different types of snackies. They were so excited about their toys, it took them mere minutes to "kill" them. Frank popped the squeaker in his raccoon almost instantaneously and Luce "the goose" pulled the stuffing from her new Moose!

Now, it is time to get dressed and leave for Mama Kay and Papa Ed's house...the first year for grand kids. Having kids in the house really made it seem like Christmas, again.

Uncle Fontain and Aunt Stephy gave James and Maggie Bumbo Seats...now they can sit up unassisted. Now, they can see the world in a different view and absolutely love it! They also have the best seats to play with the Learn-n-Play puppy.

Mama Kay and Papa Ed gave them an exer-jumper. This is an activity table with a jumper built in...James got the hang of this real quick and sometimes has a hard time sharing with Maggie.

James also got his first tooth on Christmas day! He is exactly 4 months and 1 week old! The tooth that came in was his front bottom left. I was able to hold down his lip just long enough for Dada to snap this picture. (the tooth is the white spot just above my thumb)

To end the day...Maggie posed for her "Santa Baby" picture!

I've been good...Mostly!

Ho Ho Ho! Merry CHRISTmas! James and Maggie spent the evening with Santa!!! How exciting to have Santa all to yourself. Santa made a special trip to our friend's, The Rhodes, house and we were lucky enough to be there when he stopped by. James and Maggie were very good with Santa and did not get fussy.

James and Maggie have been good...mostly; however, like their shirt says, "Who needs Santa when you've got Grandparents!"

WOW...4 Months and Counting...

James and Maggie turned 4 months on December 18th. How blessed are we to have such healthy and happy babies. James weighs in at a solid 15lbs and 26 1/2 inches and Maggie weighs 14lbs 13oz and 24 3/4 inches. I think they were both a little shocked at how much they have grown!

Lights, Camera, Action...

James and Maggie helped Mama Kay and Papa Ed break in their new camera and video recorder. They were dressed up and posed in their first Christmas outfits...with lots of photos taken. How adorable are my two...Keith and I are so blessed to have such beautiful children.

merry CHRISTmas!!!

O' Christmas Tree

We went to Lowes for James and Maggie's first ever Christmas tree. We have been very successful finding Great Christmas Trees at Lowes in the past and the success continues another year.

James and Maggie were all bundled up while Momma and Daddy sifted through the trees, they could not have been happier.

We found the perfect tree on the second try.

Luckily, a nice stranger took our family picture with our Christmas Tree.

Momma's friend Mrs. Anita came by to help watch the kids so the tree could be decorated. Lights, ornaments and the Angel make the Christmas Tree look beautiful.

We also put up James and Maggie's tree for their room. Their tree is symbolic of their first Christmas and the bow on top is from when they came home from the hospital. Decorated in "baby's first Christmas" ornaments and pink and blue pacifiers.

This year the Alabama Tree is in the dining room...that way we can enjoy it. However, we will need to get lights for it, since the ones from last year are officially M.I.A. Honestly, I think we thru them away...either way there are no lights on the tree. Instead of an Angel on top, we use Keith's hat from the football season.

Roll Tide from the 12-0 Babies!

James and Maggie enjoyed their first Iron Bowl with an Alabama Crimson Tide win! They have watched every game this season...and are undefeated. They invited over several of their friends...Uncle Keaton, Uncle Fontain, Aunt Stephie, and Aunt Barbara. They had a great time and everyone with teeth enjoyed some of Mom's good cooking!
They shook (okay..ate) the pom pons and generally enjoyed hanging out with all of their Roll Tide buddies.

Gobble til you Wobble!!

Happy Thanksgiving!! We are so thankful for our family and friends during this time. Many of you have blessed our family beyond words this year. We spent Thanksgiving Day with my family...Paw Paw (Dad), Nanny (Mom), Aunt Teresa (sister), Uncle Earl (Bro-in-law), and Shelby (niece). James and Maggie were sporting their First Thanksgiving Bibs while eating their rice cereal...but maybe next year they will enjoy some turkey and all the trimmings.

Due to Daddy's work schedule; Christmas light installation came early this year. Keith and Earl climbed the roof to install our Christmas lights. How beautiful; if nothing else goes right at least the outside looks great!!!

James and Maggie turned 3 months on Nov. 18th. This was a big day for them...we ate rice cereal from a spoon for the first time. they actually did pretty good and ate more than they wore.

They have both doubled their birth weight: James weighs 13lbs 5.5oz/24 3/4 inches long and Maggie weighs 12lbs 14oz/24 inches long.

Homecoming at BAMA!

James and Maggie attended their first homecoming at the University of Alabama. James and Nanny watched the parade and waved to Big AL, Maggie on the other hand slept through the parade. Maybe next year she will be awake.

James is wearing the Alabama shirt that his dad wore when he was only a few weeks old. Dad, Uncle Keaton and James all look very handsome in their "retro" bama gear!

Happy NEEWOLLAH!!

Happy Neewollah!!! I am sure most of you are asking...Happy What??? Well, Mommy brain is real and I have the worst case of it. We put out our pumpkins and I obviously CANNOT spell...better luck next year.

James and Maggie were so exhausted from all of the Trick or Treaters...they were thankful for their nap before bath time. Look out Halloween 2009...James and Maggie will be out in full force!

Keith and Uncle Fontain (AKA Uncle Mark..Keith's brother) decided to dress as Farmers for Halloween; I really just think they like to dress this way.

Happy Birthday Mommy!!

I am now 31, with double the fun. I would not change the past year at all...I thought my 30th year was going to be the worst, and I can honestly say it was my best and I am sure now that James and Maggie are here they will just keep getting better!!!

Trunk or Treat...

James and Maggie attended Asbury UMC Trunk or Treat on October 26th! They were a hit...everyone kept raving about how cute they were all dressed up for Halloween. I have to agree we had the cutest Pumpkin and Kitty Cat at the event. Too bad they don't have teeth to eat the candy, better luck next year!

I can do it...myself!

I can do it, Mommy. James was determined to do bath time all by himself. As you can see, he took hold of the shower hose and was rinsing off the soap. He would not give me the hose...no matter how I asked. He is such a good helper...especially during bath time.

Yippee Doo...We are 2 (months old)

James and Maggie are two months old and counting. They have have done a lot in their short time...eating, sleeping, rolling over, and supplying "Baby Love" to everyone we know. Who knew "Baby Love" was so great...God knows His stuff and puts a lot of it in the hearts of children. I look at James and Maggie each day and wonder if it is truly possible to love them more than I did the day before?

James has begun to play with rattles...his grip is really tight and once you get him to hold the rattle, he just waves it all over. Maggie is not too fond of the rattle right now, she has more of a dainty grip and would rather hold your hand.

We went to the Dr for their 2 month check up and shots on October 20th. James weighs 11lbs 11 oz, 23 1/4 inches and Maggie weighs 11lbs and 6oz, 22 3/4 inches. Maggie may be older (by a minute) but James is definitely BIGGER! They were champs with the shots, while Mom had to be consoled by Paw Paw; however it was good night sweetheart once we got home, as Maggie slept most of the afternoon.

The Great Pumpkin...Patch!

James and Maggie really like their Halloween costumes...don't we have the cutest pumpkin and cat you have ever seen? With faces like these, who wouldn't give them candy...No Tricks just Treats!!

James and Maggie took their first visit to the Asbury United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, Oct. 11th. They were so excited, James tuckered out and was asleep during all of his pictures. They both helped pick out their Halloween costumes and looked very cute amongst all of the pumpkins.
