Georgia on my mind...

Today was a big day, James and Maggie were "goin' North" according to Uncle Fontain! Off we went to Atlanta to visit my Aunt Sue, cousin Billy and his wife Nicole. This was James and Maggie's first trip outside Alabama; the rain made for not the best driving conditions, but we made it safe and sound...just in time for lunch.





Billy and Nicole brought their dogs (Bobby: a black daschund, Mac and Molly: golden retrievers). James and Maggie loved being around the dogs, and since there were no baby gates...their walking was put to the test and continue to improve.

Aunt Sue cooked a fabulous lunch (ham, homemade Mac & Cheese, green bean casserole) and she even made a birthday cake for James and Maggie! James and Maggie dove in "face first".

Last but not least...a Family Photo!!! Maybe next time James and Maggie will be paying attention, but for now this one is PERFECT!!!!

Today's Question Of The Week is Back to School Memories...

I think this year will be the best memory (once it happens of course)...as Maggie and James will begin Mother's Day Out at a local church. They will go twice a week to begin, and we are very excited. They received new lunch boxes and school clothes for their birthday, and we are having new nap mats made (as we speak...thanks WD), and we will be attending orientation on Thursday. This is going to be a new experience since we have been blessed to have MiMi keep them at home for the first year. I am sure they will meet new friends, and think their teacher is super...but just so you know, this is the first step to my kiddos growing up. Mama will probably cry more than they will.

Well...first I want to apologize for no recent pics, but James and Maggie have not been the happiest of kiddos since their Dr visit. Slight fevers and unhappiness is to be expected...although, I did want to provide you with the stats following their 1 year check up!

Dr. McCown says, "they are perfect!! Ahead of the curve on words and tricks!" You got to love it when you can impress the Dr. I think it was the "touchdown" motion...I think the Dr is a football fan!

Maggie: 30 1/2 inches 21lbs 10oz

James: 31 inches 21lbs

I still cannot believe they are 1 yr old. Here is a picture from their third day...looks similar to today...just not happy, but cute as ever!

Being ONE is lots of FUN!!!

Where did this year go? Keith and I were both off from work to spend the day with our now 1 year olds. We began the day eating breakfast at the Ranch House (highly recommended-YUM-O). Then it was off to get our portraits made, then it was home to play the day way! We had so much fun hanging out and playing...but that all comes to an end tomorrow, when we have to go to go see the Dr. We will report on our lengths and weights tomorrow.

TWOmorrow is our Birthday!!!

We are getting all cleaned up for our special day! Tomorrow is our first birthday...celebrate with us!!!

Three Cheers...Hooray, Hooray, Hooray!!!

Today was their 2nd Birthday Party...and it was a BLAST!! Maggie was still not liking the cake, but once we cut her a piece she ate it just fine. She is so prim and proper...what is a mama to do? James dove into his cake again: this time with a different approach...he just leaned over and took a bite. Who needs hands when you have a mouth? They both looked really cute in their 1st Birthday outfits...and since we took the shirt off they are still clean for pictures on Tuesday.

Maggie was not accepting the idea of diving in...she did not care how many times we said it was okay.

James is about to unleash the fury on his cake...FACE FIRST!

Oooooo...James is very excited over the activity table that his Aunt Tee, Uncle Earl and cousin Shelby gave them. It is very cute and they should learn a lot from it.

Today, was Maggie and James' first 1st Birthday Party (yes, we are having more than one party)! The party was great...there were lots of friends gathered to celebrate our upcoming special day. Please enjoy the photos below of our special day!
