Hello Skype!

Hello Skype...How are you?
I am fine...How are you?
We are Great!
So, good to be able to SEE you!
It is wonderful to SEE you and HEAR you, as well!
Can I show you a Silly Face, my Artwork from School, or blow you a kiss?
Of course...that is what I am here for!

I am so glad my mom and dad (yes, in the land before time) got a computer. Being able to see them when the kids want to talk has been so much fun! I even enjoy being able to talk to them via SKYPE.
Thank you technology...I appreciate the ability to see and talk at the same time!

Playing at the Park...

Picture it: Friday, March 25th...come home from busy day at work, a little hungry, and wanting a relaxing evening at home. You are met at the door, by the Little "Mr" wanting, begging, pleading to go "somewhere".  You try hard to resist, but to no avail...you C-A-V-E! "Okay, you want to go to the park?"  YES!!! Let's go NOW!  Come on, Mama, let's go...

We love this local fire station park...just play equipment and slides and usually no-other-children!  We have a blast!

Princess Ggie Ggie on her Throne!

Princess Ggie Ggie in her tower...

Little "Mr" climbing the dangerous rail

Little "Mr" capturing the tunnel

ANGRY BEES...

Once we killed all the bees, we had a great time. We played for 40+ minutes and went home to have dinner.
Could not have asked for a better Friday Evening...

Work (equals) Reward

For all of their hard work on Saturday, James and Maggie were treated on Sunday to one of their favorite places...DQ. Their Nanny and PawPaw took them on their first visit to this tastefully-wonderful establishment last year...and it remains at the top of their "are we going" lists. This is along with Publix, Lowes, and School!  We met Uncle Mark and Aunt Stephanie there for a sweet treat...

This night...of all nights...was SUPER BUSY!  We are talking: line-out-the-door-you-would-have-thought-it-was-summer...kind of nights.  James was not a fan of waiting, although that was a good lesson in patience. We finally made it to the counter and we were able to order...2 small vanilla cups, 1 medium Hot Fudge Sundea, and 1 mini Heath Blizzard.
*Side Note (I have loved Blizzard's ever since I was a little girl...my family would venture there weekly. For the most part I was a traditionalist...all Blizzard's should have some form of chocolate candy-except my dad always went for something like a banana split, or chocolate covered cherries...I have to admit, those were GOOD too.)

Maggie loves her ice cream, she savors what she has by taking small deliberate bites...such a princess!

James is quite the opposite...the Bigger the Bite the Better!

Thanks Nanny and PawPaw for introducing us to DQ...we LOVE it!

Weeds, Leaves, & Mowers-- Oh My!

This was weekend #2 of working in the yard...please understand; we are normally not this gung-ho, but I am so tired of being the step-kid of the neighborhood with the not so great yard.  We are trying to at least look presentable, so that when we disappear to the pool for the summer it is not quite as noticeable.

James and Maggie were very excited to be playing outside for most of the day. They were going to ride tricycles, play basketball, and hope the neighborhood kids would be out to play...then they realized what great fun Mama and Dada were having with the leaves and the lawnmower. They wanted to chip in and help (thinking this is not going to last forever, so why not accept their offer).

James was helping to pull up the vine weeds from the monkey grass

Maggie grabbed her rake and helped to pull them down the hill to the street

Sometimes, we would rake the wrong direction, but we would figure it out and change...

James was very intrigued by the lawn mower, and after several practice laps, joined the ranks

I think Dada appreciated the help...

Working for the Weekend...

I was not sure how "working in the yard/garden"...truly labor intensive, muscle building, out with the old and in with the new...work was going to happen with two into-everything 2.5 year olds. Well...let me tell you-they were GREAT! Surprise, Surprise...the day was FAB-U-LOUS!!

I was amazed, can't you tell. They were very interested in what we were doing, and how it would all come together. They wanted to help...so, of course we took lots of pictures...

James and the Til-ler!!

Maggie and her turn...TILL-ER!

James, ridding the world of weeds...one poke at a time!

He is going to be a great worker, someday!

No, Maggie...you have to do it like this...things won't grow with weeds...

The day was filled with tilling the garden beds, and then we tackled the front flower beds. These flower beds at one time were filled with UGLY, over grown Holly T-R-E-E-S...why they were not manageable bushes, I will never understand. We pulled those out several years ago, and since then have had nothing growing, let alone planted.  This year...that will hopefully all change. We tilled the flower beds in anticipation for bushes to be planted and the yard to begin to take shape...I think the neighbors would appreciate it, anyway. We also, removed a random tree and bush from our retaining wall...that really opens the landscape. There are plans for a decent yard...just needed the time to prepare it.

After the work was done...it was time for some fun!  Our neighbors were out to play and we had a blast!  From Frisbee, to fling sock, to parachute toss...and of course bicycles and tricycles.  Maggie decided she would try out the neighbors helmet and bicycle...all by herself!  (At least she is on the bicycle correctly)...

Just know, the princess laid down (check out the picture) everything to put on the helmet!

Throw it high Dada...crash and burn...the parachute did not deploy. D'OH!

Laughing in the Land before Time

Visiting Nanny and PawPaw has always been a day trip...but NOT this time; you guessed it, we packed up the kids, the bedrails, the extra diapers, and pajama's and spent the night in the Land before Time!  It was a yucky, rainy, cannot-see-the-road-in-front-of me type of trip, but we made it safe and sound.
This was a big trip, because not only were we spending the night...but James and Maggie were going to share a bed.  They would be sharing a big bed and this was entirely new to them...we were expecting giggling and playing; however, the lack of naps during the day and the extra late night made for tired kiddos. They got a shower, into their pajamas, listened to their Bible story, and off to bed they went...and sleep quickly followed!
Sunday Morning, we woke for church, and spent most of the day being SILLY!! I think they had the best time playing and monkeying around with their PawPaw...he is just as silly as they are. I am sure Nanny's smile muscles were hurting...she seems to smile twice as big with James and Maggie around. See for yourself!

GiddyUp Horsey...GiddyUp, a do-

Please tickle me...so, I will laugh more!

Ride the Horse, Nanny...make it go faster!

My PawPaw is a silly boy, just like me!

Do you think James suspects us? No, PawPaw, not you...it was me!

This was a great weekend...according to James and Maggie, we are going back real soon!

Play Day and the Tired Princess

Maggie and James love to be outside...and with the weather we were having last week who wouldn't!  The sun was shining and all of the neighborhood kids were out and about...makes for a perfect day!  Lots of running, chasing, playing in a rock band, living in the zoo, and spinning until you fall down. These are the days I wish I was still a kid...although, mama's tend to have a lot further to fall when spinning til your dizzy!

Chase me...mama...Ms. A-Vanna...anyone...

The one man band, drumming on the can...
after a few minutes, there were 4 other members to his ROCK BAND

Resting...then we are off and moving again...

Not 100% sure of dogs, other than the infamous Frank & Lucy, of course!

When you have had this much fun...a tired Princess is bound to happen!
